THE TRACK
NYIRÁD IN MOTORSPORT
Nyirád Racing Center is one of the longest-standing rallycross and autocross racetracks not only in Hungary, but also in Europe. In addition to a number of championship and amateur races, the track has hosted several rounds of the FIA European Championship.
The Nyirád racetrack was an important stop in the first Hungarian rallycross championship series, as it is one of the first tracks in the country. The European Championship race was held in Hungary on this track for the first time in 2006. The “Vörös Katlan” has been a defining part of motorsport for decades, not just domestically.
VÖRÖS KATLAN
Nyirád's racetrack is sometimes referred to as "Vörös Katlan", which is named after the red bauxite that covers most of the track.
In addition to its technical curves, this feature also makes Nyirád Racing Center special.
THE TRACKS
Euro RX
The width of Nyirád Racing Center's rallycross track is typically between 12-16 meters, and 15 meters at the start line.
Competitors can show what they can do with their cars at a distance of 1220 meters. With the Joker circle, the length of the course increases to 1290 meters.
The race on the track is counterclockwise.
During each lap, the pilots fight each other on gravel and 52% on asphalt.
Autocross
The autocross track is a bit different from the rallycross track!
